Assalamua'alaikum wrb :)

Alhamdulillah tsumma Alhamdulillah :))) Allah with his mercy allowed me to reach my 22nd birthday. Alhamdulillah too it was on Friday, the blessed day of the week. hehe you hear Friday 13th as a superstitious date, not for me. It was one of the best days :)

I had no lectures so that's one good point. So I got to skype with my family back home and celebrated with them online. hehe.. jadila. My other half wakil potong our cake, mmm hazelnut cake with fruits on top from bakerlyn I think. But more gladly I got to sama2 mengaminkan doa recited by my father. heehe home sweet home. hehe having my niece singing the birthday song to me, knowing them makan satay and apaka.. it was niice. sweet birthday celebration..

Night time, celebrated my birthday with the Bruwickians :) As per usual friday night, we usually have a halaqah (we call it zikir party :)) I was supposed to give tazkirah (reminders) that night so the whole day I was trying to find correct materials that I can bring up for sharing. The title was Allah the Merciful (Ar-Rahman). To me it was quite a hard topic to explain but we'll save that for later.

So anyway, we were going for our Zikir Party, nisah and I. Sampai saja rah the door, nisah knocked the door lain la. haha.. so I kinda expected it. But masa open, the surprise! was that majority of the Bruwicks, girls and guys were there complete with balloons and banner! hahaha THAT I was surprised, didn't' expect that. Never really had an extravagant birthday (by that I mean with balloons and banners) surprise. hehe so I was touched although my face ani very zero one. haha.. We had some cake and after that the girls continued on with the zikir party and the guys with their tadarus in another room.

I was really looking forward to the Zikir Party since it has been about a month we did not gather together. So really I was excited for that. A halaqah (gathering for the sake of seeking knowledge for Allah) really is a blessed gathering, According to hadiths, Angels search for these sort of gatherings and spread their wings for us. Prayers are easily answered and we hope that Allah forgives us, Amiin. So yea since I was the one speaking that night about Ar-Rahman, I focused mainly on the tips of being the servants of Ar-Rahman. It is mentioned very clearly in Surah Al-Furqan verse 63-74. I've also listened to a sister sharing about it when I went for the winter gathering in Dec so yea.

The next day we had netball at 11am. I woke up up fresh and started cooking soto in the morning. hehe... Soto kambing and beef combined. I still had the daging korban from last year and decided to just cook them all. Alhamdulillah success! After netball, and prayers, had the soto with my friends for a late lunch. hehe.. Not over yet, my Malaysian friends across, called for makan2.. weee Alhamdulillah.. they just finished exams and decided to cook and well when they decide to have a meal, its a feast all right. heehe.. Had fish curry, lamb curry, nasi padang ( i think. with a mixture of pulut), mertabak, three different cakes! (marble cheesecake, carrot cake, choc muffins) nyumm22 sedaap.. hehe

So yeah a very fruitful birthday, Alhamdulillah. I still have some of the soto, so will see how that goes. hehe..

First day of school!

for second term!

Weeee happyyy :D Alhamdulillah.. 7hrs straight in Gibbet Hill man, I'm proud of you fiyyah. wawa.. Thanks to Allah for preventing me from sleeping in my lectures hehehe... 11am-6pm. I had 4 lectures and one hour break in between. I guess the reason it didn't feel so long was because I had to pray in every of those hour breaks (zuhur, asar, Maghrib) Alhamdulillah. So I guess I had a fuel top-up before every lecture :)

So yup I'm taking 4 modules this term. So far with the first lectures, I'm very happy with my choices. I'm doing Advanced Immunology, Vaccination and Gene Therapy for Disease Control, Protein Targeting and lastly Oncology. The lectures for the first two modules were very interconnected so that boosted up my mood. And well I guess I had revised for Adv Immunology before I slept this morning, so yup I was in a good mood to study. hehe.. Protein Targeting is very related to Cell Biology and I love Cell Biology so insyaAllah I'll be eager to enter the lectures. Hmm for Oncology, the content is fun, but I guess I was already worn off by that time and so dozed in about 2 of his slides but that''s all right :) And before every lecture I did some reading and own notes so yup!

First day of school today was an awesome day!! :D Alhamdulillah. A good day to start off the new term. Hmm now all I need to do is keep up the momentum and plan wisely on revising my last term's lectures.

Random ramblings

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :)))

How are you all? I miss blogging and I miss writing to an unknown audience if there's any. hehe.. Hmm how should I start of? How''s my life so far?

I actually just came back from my junior's place. Alhamdulillah today, eh i mean yesterday was definitely a day where we got to meet the other Bruneians again after few weeks since Winter games. Siok jua la, me and nisah got to visit our dear juniors yang first years rah their halls. The whole day dpt jumpa urng, siok juala Alhamdulillah. Melawat sambil melawat ani sunnah nabi jua, ia mengeratkan silaturrahim. Selain atu mendapat keberkatan jua InsyaAllah. Pahala buat yang melawat dan pahala buat yang memuliakan tetamu. Setiap langkah kitani pegi visit urang lain InsyaAllah dapat pahala, and apabila tetamu kluar, InsyaAllah akan diampunkan dosa-dosa the hostess. MasyaAllah, Islam is a beautiful religion.

We're already in the new year for both Hijrah and Masehi. 1433 and 2012. Subhanallah time flies. Currently I'm still on holiday but one day left before term 2 starts. hmm so how was my achievement before? hmm well, I got my marks for my labs and initial report for project. Alhamdulillah I got for both 2.1. Even though the first is a high and the second is a low one. In terms of revising, its a bit dissapointing. My gear is still not running at high speed. I did go to library with my friends during the nights but I got dissapointed which how much I managed to finish. And then suddenly stopped going to library because everybody had deadlines. Holidays came and unfortunately my revision was at a halt. I've managed to do a few lectures but I'm dissapointed I couldn't achieve more.

Hmm in terms of holiday visiting sisters and friends and families, Alhamdulillah I've had a lot so that means this month I will need to reduce the number of visits. I've been down to London several times already but that's ok, my reasons were valid. hmm so far 4 times? First time, to visit cousin, 2nd time Kem Motivasi Hijrah, then Winter games, and then to visit my spore family hmm but that last one the plan tak jadi but ticket already bought so when down London nevertheless. I also went for a Malaysian winter gathering in Lake District and finally to Leeds for IlmFest and visit Nass, Tiqah and Zeerah. Alhamdulillah, Allah wanted me to meet with these great people. Regardless of nationalities, skin colour and culture, if our faith is the same, you will be happy and thrilled to meet one another :)

I've learned a lot throughout these months and Alhamdulillah I've achieved with Allah's mercy, satisfaction. Experiences are really valuable and can never be replaced with anything else. :) I've met and got close with the friends Allah has given me. Previous years when I was torn between not really belonging to any group, this time I can manage to see past through that phase, accept the fact that people are different, and there will always be integration in a society. I'm a more happy person and need to understand that in order for your relationship with people to improve, your relationship with Allah needs to improve first. Have you relied entirely to Him?

Long time ago, it was either last year or the previous, I read this one entry in a blog. I think the author was a he. Anyway he mentioned that he wasn't a material person but he realised he was dependant on relationship with people. Materials, people, isn't that all part of dunia? He relied on his relationship with people that this too could bring him further away from remembering Allah. His tawakkal to Allah was still not entirely. I felt this was the same case with me. Materials wise Alhamdulillah, I'm never really addicted to it. It's ok if I don't have the latest trend of clothes or shoes or bags. It's ok if I look different from others. It's ok if I don't have a big room or I don't play video games. Alhamdulillah my parents brought me well and I'm ok with not having all that.

But as I grew older I realised how I always think what other people will think. I consider too much what other people will think and may sometimes exagerate abit in the process. In the end, not only it does not affect the other people, it only demoralises and makes you depress, I thnk. It's when you feel you don't really belong to any group of friends. But after all that I realised, you only need Allah. When nobody's there, Allah is there and He is sufficient for you. This statement has been said alot of times by other people, but when you realise it, you just realise it, Alhamdulillah :)

I'm not staying we should not care about our relationship with people, because Islam teaches us to take care of our relationship with people but I'm saying that if we find some faults in our relationship with others, we need to check our relationship with Allah first :)

I'm a human too and I still do mistakes. Mistakes that are unseen by others are much worse than those that you can see. To be a truly sincere person is a subject that only Allah knows truly. I pray to Allah that He always show me and you the right way, the strength to fight our nafs and achieve success dunia and akhirat. Amiin ya rabbal alamiin :)))

Hmm I thought I like to add this in too. I miss painting, drawing! :( I manage to find the portrait of 'My Monarch' in one of the pictures my sister's friend was in. Aww rindu. Amazing times, really. I stopped drawing portraits because I've heard that it's not allowed in Islam but so far I have not come across to this specific ruling. I'm still a bit confused on this matter. To me its not wrong because when I draw, even though its a copy of something real, i know that it will never be near close to the real thing. As much as we want to draw to perfection, it is never perfect. One thing for sure is that we can never get that perfect colour. As much as we want make it look real, we definitely know and can see it's not the real thing. Doesn't that show how much Allah is much greater than we are? It teaches us to appreciate the beauty of the object. When I draw, I need to observe the object properly in detail. This really takes patience and MasyaAllah it makes you appreciate it even more. Subhanallah, how difficult it is to draw, what more to make or build the actual object, but for Allah it's all easy when He says 'Kun' it happens.

And plus Allah loves beauty, if draw beautifully we can only appreciate how Allah has given these hands to appreciate and draw beautiful things. I guess it's a danger if we think that We are the ones that cause the drawing to be beautiful, its a danger of the heart and I guess for some people its better to avoid it. Wallahu'alam.

hehe ok I should really get off now. Until next time, InsyaAllah. Please pray for me. Oh I'm also currently raisign funds for the Syrian people. They are in dire need of humanitarian help and we are only obliged to help them in anyway we could. A muslim is not truly a muslim until he loves for his brother as he love for himself.

Alhamdulillah, diri ani dipertemukan lagi dgn hari yang penuh berkah hari ani, di bumi uni of warwick. Sorry for any wrongdoings and for the looong absence. I've been wanting to blog since I was in Brunei, tapi inda terjadi2. Wahh, today Alhamdulillah byk urng menjemput makan, hehe ada kan 4 buah places kali pegi makan termasuk di rumah lagi, so 5 places la tu.

Suasana atu memang meriah, dari malam kelmarin lagi (malam raya) hari Sabtu. Dimalam, lapas saja sungkai dengan jemaah lain rah surau, ada lagi event hari raya dgn warga Brunei di sini. Kitani sembahyang isya', takbir dan tarus jamuan raya. Alhamdulillah, memang sah ramai pandai masak, hehe the event potluck. Sesi gambar atu pun inda lupa. Yang bagi menghayat hati is masa group photo ngikut tahun. wahh.. udah sampai turn the final yrs.. bari sadih, tapi slajur bagi semangat semoga kami semua graduate dengan cemerlang, InsyaAllah.

Pagi tadi, sembahyang raya rah surau, Seperti tahun2 lapasnya, meriah suasana dan panuh sampit surau atu Alhamdulillah. Suara kanak2 inda ketinggalan, dan baju2 masing2 meriah2. Memang today hari untuk kitani meriahkan. Lapas sembahyng ada makan nasi disediakan. nyaman jua eh, nasi masakan pakistan dgn mint yoghurt sungguh nyelerakan. hehe ada lagi baby ani alum sampai 1 tahun, siok juala main2 dgnnya.

Udah rah surau, bergerak rah flats kawan malaysia. Mcm biasa memang mantap makanan durng. sungguhpun tmpat damit, tapi dapat jua accomodate kami yang ramai atu. then bergerak ke rumah lain lagi. Siok kami ramai2 jalan2 pakai baju kurung, mcm convoy sama kawan2 tapi beza di sini nada krita kan pakai, jalan kaki ja. hehe.. Lps atu garak ke rumah landlord dulu before finally rah rumah kawan lagi. Makanan atu variety everywhere, rezeki banar, nyaman2 semua. Semoga Allah berikan durng afiat dan tambah lagi rezeki bisdia.
Sampat kali tapau kali ah.. hehe

And then malam, ada lagi kawan2 dtg kebilik untuk usrah and slajur beraya. Baik jua byk makanan betapau, dapat jua serve parut kami semua. Alhamdulillah... semoga kitani jadi insan yang lebih beriman dan bertaqwa,, amiin..

Brunei baru ari ani (Isnin) raya. Selamat hari raya maaf zahir batin semua.. Byk2kan takbir raya. Special for these four days (inc hari tasyrik).. :)))

Assalamualaikum wrb,

It has been a month plus since I last posted. So many things have happened and Alhamdulillah they have been great for me.

So yes, exams. I did it for one week, even though everything was cramped in but Alhamdulillah Allah made it easy for me. Whilst waiting for the results my sisters and I had a hi-tea together and just the week after, we went for a holiday in Milano. The hotel accomodation was great, breakfast was included, superb. So we just had to find something to eat for dinner, hehe.. We also went out of Milan and took the train for a daytrip to Pisa to see the leaning tower, one of the wonders of the world, Alhamdulillah. Nah, we didnt climb the tower.

My friend texted me results were out, hehe I didnt know mine yet. So right after I came back, I went to see my tutor and Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah I was and am very happy with the results. And now I'm currently doing a student research scheme with the university for the whole of July. It's kind of an intership. The scheme sounds so cool though. hehe.. I'm really glad my friend pushed me to apply for it and Alhamdulillah I got it! :) Paid experince, what more can I ask? hehe

Oh fiizah graduated yesterday! Weeee Alhamdulillah. I took a day off to attend her ceremony. The university even had a live stream that can be watched anywhere, so yup! CONGRATULATIONS sistah! Sooo happy for you :D

Congratulations also to my MS friends Lipah, Nad, Nass, Yumni, Fatin, Haikal, MJ. Congrats kamuu!!! :D Alhamdulillah...

heheh k la, back to work la. Today ngam2 my supervisor is on sick leave so I don't really have much to do, and hence I'm writing. hehe k tadaa!

Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam bersabda, “Barang siapa yang kalian puji dengan kebaikan maka pasti baginya surga, dan barang siapa yang kalian sebut-sebut kejelekannya maka pasti baginya neraka.” (HR. Bukhari dan Muslim).

I would just like to share a video that hopefully will touch your hearts. I don't know if I've posted it before but if I did, that only shows that I love it even more. Sayu and hiba when you watch it. Our beloved Rasulullah sallahu 'alaihi wassalam. He loves us soo much and care for us till the very end, he prays for us even in the hereafter. We know some of the prayers that he taught us that have been compiled by his sahabats. But have you ever wonder, what prayers he might have not told us and silently praying to Allah the Almighty?

Rasulullah sallahu 'alaihi wassalam has such a big heart and he is the best man and leader bestowed by Allah to mankind.

Solat Sunat Rawatib

Selamat Hari Jumaat! Penghulu segala hari. Udah baca surah kahfi?

Rasulullah Sallahu 'alaihi wassalam bersabda: "Barang siapa yang membaca Surah Al-Kahfi pada hari Jum`at, Maka Allah akan meneranginya dengan cahaya dari jum`at yang dia baca kepada jum`at yang brikutnya." ( H.R Baihaqi)

Berbanyakkan tah membuat amalan2 pada Hari Jum'at. Selawat banyak2, sedekah, dan semua yang baik2. :)

Anyway, I would just like to share the summary table of sunat rawatib :)

Sembahyang Rawatib ialah sembahyang sunat yang dilakukan sebelum atau sesudah sembahyang fardu.

Ia terbahagi kepada 2:

(i) Sunat Muakkadah (سنة مؤكدة) - sunat yang sangat-sangat digalakkan oleh agama kerana ibadah itu selalu dikerjakan oleh Rasulullah SAW, tetapi tidak diwajibkan.

(ii) Sunat Ghairu muakkadah (سنة غير مؤكدة) - sunat yang digalakkan oleh agama tetapi kuat galakkannya tidaklah seperti Sunat Muakkadah kerana ibadah itu tidak selalu dikerjakan oleh Rasulullah SAW.

2 – Rakaat Solat Sunat Muakkadah

2 – Rakaat Solat Sunat Ghairu Muakkadah

Jika solatnya sempurna catatkanlah sebagai sempurna, dan jika terdapat sesuatu kekurangan; Tuhan berfirman pula: Periksalah adakah hamba-Ku mempunyai amalan solat sunat? Jika dia mempunyai amalan solat sunat; lalu Tuhan berfirman: Sempurnakanlah solat fardu hamba-Ku dengan solat sunatnya. Kemudian diperhitungkan amalan itu dengan cara demikian.” (Hadis riwayat Abu Dawud)

Assalamualaikum wrb everyone,

just a quick journal report entry. Fiizah came to coventry a few days ago. Maximum number of days so far, four days. not bad not bad. Anyway yup, finally cooked something for consecutive days. haha.. Oh and after a long time we finally had badminton! wee.. for 2 hrs with the other Bruneians. We went to Kenilworth on sunday to visit Lis and ngam2 ada Kenilworth festival! Basically a fun fair which are aimed at entertaining children. hehe.. yup, so that was a nice trip we had. Monday was staying home day since I didn't have any lectures and at night my housemate made us all roast chicken for dinner. It had been a long time since we all had dinner together in the living room so it was really a nice break.

hehe and on Tuesday brought fiizah up the famous GH to my department and let her stay in the biomed grid and do her revision whilst I had my epidemiology lecture. After that we went to Xananas to eat the oh famous Honey BBQ chicken but unfortunately they only serve that after 12 pm and so we opted for some salmon sandwich instead which I was quite disappointed since they used the thin sliced bread. I would have preferred burger buns though, then at least it would look a bit more restaurant-quality. Tapi untuk sampaikan hajat dang pijah, we bought the Honey BBQ chicken and had it packed before she went back. Quite an eventful weekend eh. hhee yea it was nice..

Alhamdulillah, Allah has given me the opportunity to attend her nikah ceremony. Memang udah takdir tah tu I go back to UK akhir ckit. I remembered before fizah transferred school, mcm biasa we said nanti udah kawin apa jangan lupa lagau ah. hehe.. and yes I would like to keep that promise. If any of my friends gets married, Insya Allah kalau nada halangan, I'll attend. Dalam Islam, memang di tuntut untuk seorang Muslim pergi ke majlis panggilan saudaranya. Hikmah2nya yang boleh kitani lihat is satu, menguatkan kasih sayang and sillaturrahim dgn our saudara (friends/families, etc), kedua pernikahan atu sendiri is an ibadat to Allah. Since during the majlis Imam ada membacakan khutbah, atu sendiri telah membuat Majlis atu seperti Majlis Ilmu or dhikir.

Tentang khutbah ani, we may have heard it several times but sometimes inda clear. I was given the rezeki untuk duduk2 dakaat2 ngan sebilik dgn the pengantin, so the khutbah made by the imam was loud and clear. Perkahwinan ani sunah Rasullullah SAW. Syaitan pun sediih brabis sal urang kawin terhindar dari one of the biggest maksiat, zina. And we know with marriage, you've fulfilled half your deen. tinggal another half ja you have to usahakan. Dua rakaat sembahyang dilakukan oleh urng kawin sama macam TUJUH PULUH rakaat urng bujang. Masya Allah! besar fadilat urng kawin.

Bisai the imam nasihat the pengantin. He was clear and straight forward jua. He reminded that with marriage jua comes a huuge responsibility. Tanggungjawab si suami tah paling barat. Sungguhpun suami beramal byk and memang calon pegi syurga, tapi di akhirat nanti, kalau isteri dan anak komplen rah Allah yang suami/ayah durng masa di dunia inda ngajar or tagur durng sal sembahyang, tutup aurat,etc, and tsabit lurus durng ckp, di terbalikkan pulang hukumannya. suami pegi neraka, and isteri anak pergi syurga. For the isteri, he said penting sngt tah tu minta izin suami utk keluar rumah. zaman skrng sms/hp apa semua ada so gunakan tia. Because if isteri keluar rumah tanpa izin suami, malaikat (i think its malaikat) di langit and bumi laknat abisdia. Kalau ia mati that time, na'uzubillah.

So yes, next time pegi urang kawin, kita ingat2kan la fadhilatnya. Then you can hayati and really feel happy for the couple. Doakan durang, mudah2an doa kitani di terima oleh Allah. Amiin :)

Journey end and begin!

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.. :)

Alhamdulillah I arrived back safely 2 nights ago. I'll really miss those two places where the heart and mind is at peace because everywhere you see, people were at remembrance or dzikir to Allah. Your daily routine was eat, sleep, pray and a bit of shopping with the niat to improve their economy, Insya Allah it will also become as an ibadat. You see people asking for some rezeki Allah has given you, and you say Alhamdulillah, there are such people for me to help and do my part.

Alhamdulillah I got to go there for the second time, this time with a bit more knowledge than before and so I can appreciate much more. I got to meet fantastic individuals, Alhamdulillah whose stories and personalities were lessons to me. Patience was tested and we always have to remember to khusnuzon (bersangka baik) to Allah and everybody/everthing else.

There were some things you felt rugi inda membuat but then again, you have to see things a different/better scenario and remember your priorities. Our life purpose is to find Redha Allah. There are soo many ways or wasilah to do them. Don't make the sunnah acts into haram when you disobey the principle ibadat. An example. Stealing is forbidden in Islam. But giving donations is really recommended in Islam. If you donate stolen goods, do you think that's right,even? The goods are not your right to begin with :S

There were so many times when we were pushed and squeezed in a sea of people. If it was in sea of women, at least they were your mahram, but if it was in sea of both men and women, the situation needed to be prevented because even touching your non-mahram is haram. Anyway in the midst of all the people, patience were tested. If we push and hurt our fellow muslims in order to to a sunnah act, how is that a good thing? that's why we always had to pray to Allah so that He provide us enough room and make our deeds to him easier.

An example of this scenario would be in Raudhah where prayers made there are mustajab. For the men the place was easily accesible and from what I heard even though there were alot of men, they were all very orderly and well silent. Seriously we couldn't hear noises from the other side of the partition. It was clearly different on the girls' side. We had certain times of the day to access to Raudhah and Alhamdulillah the system nowadays was better than the last time I went in 2004. They allow different groups from different parts of the world to enter and different time slots, e.g first groups from Asian, then from Iran, then from locals, etc. But still, women seriously can be veryy impatient and well rush for things, hmm a bit like jungle life.

No wonder, jihad for men in going to war for the sake of Allah is equivalent to women performing Hajj. Maybe one of the reasons is this. The test to be patient. Wallahualam. Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah because He had given me the chance again to become His guest in his House, to visit the prophet Sallahu 'alaihi wassalam. May Allah bless me with this opportunity again, amiiin.. and get to go with more great individuals that would bring me closer to Him. Amiin :)))

Sebuah kisah

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Saja kan bercerita mengenai sebuah kisah Rasulullah Sallahu 'alaihi wassalam (S.A.W). Maybe you've heard of it before, but napalah ah.. baca lagi :) Two days ago I think, the story was aired in Nur Islam radio station. Note that what I write below may not be the exact words but the main storyline is there. :)

The whole topic was actually aimed towards being isteri yang solehah and one of focuses was on Saidatina Fatimah, Nabi Muhammad S.A.W youngest daughter. One day Nabi SAW rushed to his beloved daughter's house because he heard there was a problem in Saiditina Fatimah and Sayyidina Ali's (Fatimah's husband and one of the prophet SAW closest sahabat) household.

When Rasulullah SAW entered their house, he could see the tools that Fatimah uses to bread from just a handful of wheat (gandum). The Prophet SAW saw Fatimah in distress. To cheer her up, Rasulullah SAW reminded her that she was one of the first Muslimahs to enter Jannah/heaven (Fatimah is an exemplary wife) and so asked her what was making her sad.

Fatimah said, "O my father, I am just very tired from doing household chores. I was just wondering, Ali my husband is one of the great warriors in defending Islam and it would lessen my burden if Ali could bring home someone from the battles he won to help me with the household chores." She said this to her beloved father, hoping that He S.A.W could convey the matter to Ali.

(Just a side note. Ali was a poor man. When he married Fatimah, his mahar was a piece of shield vest that Rasulullah SAW gave him which he used to protect himself in battles. Fatimah being the best loyal wife to Ali, does not complain and make do with what they have that even with some wheat and few tools she could make out something nice to eat. She knew that they could not afford a slave/helper (at that time slavery was not yet abolished) and so was hoping that Ali being one of the main warriors could be granted someone to help him with his chores.

Rasulullah SAW being the leader of the Muslim army was sad that he could not give what Fatimah wanted but advised Fatimah and reminded her beloved daughter that all hardwork will be rewarded by Allah.

Rasulullah S.A.W talked to the tools and told them to start working. With the permission of Allah, the tools started working on the wheat themselves. They could hear cries from the tools. They were praising Allah the Almighty! "Subhanallah, Walhamdulillah, Wa Lailahaillallah Wallahuakbar" At first the sound was very sad and later on it was if they were laughing with joy!

When asked, the tools told Rasulullah SAW they were sad because Fatimah stopped working with them (she was exhausted) and they were later happy because Rasulullah SAW mentioned that the tools that has been used to do work for the sake of Allah will also enter Jannah with their master. (Since Fatimah was promised paradise, these tools too were bound to enter Paradise Insya Allah)

The dzikir to Allah mentioned above were what Rasulullah SAW taught and offered Fatimah as a better alternative than a servant to help her lessen her exhaustion from doing household chores. Fatimah was joyed by this new knowledge and since then on always practised this dzikir to ease her burden.

Oh Brunei..

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :)

Alhamdulillah I've safely arrived in Brunei about 11 am this morning :) Wee dtg je rumah, I was greeted with the aroma of food cooking by mother in the kitchen! hehe..was also greeted by the baby niece.. hehe she now responds to her name! haha that was fun.

So lets rewind one day back. Me and Karen decided to meet up Azian in Paddington first, before we depart for heathrow. Pegi makan2 dulu le.. and catch up on things. Went to Delima nearby and ate kueh tiaw. huhu.. Our flight was at 10pm so took the 6.30pm Heathrow Connect just so we won't be late. We weren't and since we checked online earlier on, the luggage check in went smoothly. haha my bagla barat. baik jua ada karen..kan karen? hhehe..

Oh since we took SQ, our departure was from terminal 3. I went to pray at the multi-faith prayer room, bought some krispy cremes (the usual were finished so I ended up buying the other assortments) and off we went inside. Wah Heathrow now udah stricter. Balik2 check passport, boarding pass. My bag sikut panuh kan. Kena search tarus wah thoroughly. Abis dikeluarkan segala2nya. segala bag coins la, kutak kusung la, plastic2 damit la. hahah good thing I threw out this packet of sweets brapa lamakah in my bag before jalan. Kalau inda, hahaha.. baik jua nada raisins ah ahhaha (I used to have at least some raisins inside my school bag dulu2)

Oh our plane was the super jumbo one (2 storeys) but then inda terasa since I didn't see any tangga going downstairs anyway. Hmm the seats were comfy and the meals were nice. Me and Karen prebooked our meals udahkan, so our food alwayss dtg early. huhhu.. kasian urng duduk sebalah kami.

We transited at Singapore for one night. Bisai la jua. At least I get to meet my family jua. Jadi tah walaupun semalam. Then off to Changi by 7pm since our flight was at 9am.

So yup, that's it! :)

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Apa khabar anda semua? hehe felt like blogging something at this hour. I have been doing some packing and sorting out a bunch of papers. Hmm, now what's left is to sort what notes/papers/textbooks to bring home. Definitely not bringing in any files. All my notes shall to go inside clear plastics I brought from Brunei last time. Just thinking if I should bring my textbooks as well. Thing is I don't use so much of my text books. Usually notes and the internet is sufficient since you can just google things you don't know and tadaa!

How do I feel about going home? Not overly excited la but of course something you look forward to. I bet when I reached Brunei, it's as if I haven't even gone to UK. hehe.. that feeling is always there! oo my nephew and niece has sure grown! hehe that is something to look forward to. I wonder if they recognise me. hehe.. Going home not to have fun, must study study fiyyah! Then Insya Allah after about 2 weeks, will be going somewhere lagi, something to really forward to! Which means STUDY AND REVISE PROPERLY FIYYAH... :)

Anyway something random just occurred inside my head. I was just thinking how things that you remind and give advice to people won't stick with that person until you yourself do it. This is something we all know. For if we don't do what we say, we are just hypocrites. I remember this one story.

One day a father complained to a pious man about his son who didn't want to stop eating sweets after the father repeatedly scolded the boy. He was hoping the pious man could advise his child about this bad behaviour (too much sweets = toothache especially for growing kids). So the pious man agreed but he told the father to give him a month.

A month has passed by, and the pious man met the boy. Since that day, the boy suddenly just stopped eating sweets! The father was so surprised and asked the pious man, " How did you get my son to stop after just meeting him for one time and it took me forever to stop him?"

You know what the pious man said?

He said, " Oh sir, you know why I asked for one month before meeting your son?"

The father said," No, why?"

Pious man," Before, I too was very fond of sweets. I needed that one month so that I can stop eating sweets myself before telling others to do the same."

I try my best to do the good deed before posting it here because if I don't do otherwise, I fear that it won't be effective at all. But if you do see doing the opposite of what I have written, then please forgive me and remind me again for I'm human after all and prone to do mistakes :)

Brunei Darussalam, an Islamic Monarchy

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Alhamdulillah tsumma Alhamdulillah. I am very happy to see the direction Brunei is going to. Everytime you open up Brudirect or Brunei times or Borneo Bulletin, you suddenly realise an increase in stories that indicates Brunei slowly implementing the Islamic Law into practise. Alhamdulillah, under the leadership of our monarch, he kept on reminding us the importance of obtaining Allah's blessings.

Brunei has always been an Islamic country but unfortunately you and me know how much we actually implement its teachings. Alhamdulillah again for we Brunei's government policy is based on Islamic teachings but as His Majesty mentioned in his latest titah during the Islamic Religious Council Meeting, our laws have always not always been completely following the Syarak's Law. And he mentioned verses from the Al-Quran, one of which is

"Surah Al Baqarah, Verse 85, which says if it is appropriate for amongst you to only believe some parts of al-Quran, while abandoning the others, then there is no other consequence amongst you other than humiliation (disreputation) as you live in this world, and then in the afterlife will be pushed into agony, and remember Allah always sees whatever you are doing," His Majesty said.

Wow this post was supposed to be posted days ago. I just didn't have the opportunity to continue writing and publish it. Anyway I quite lost the momentum on reviving the content of the post.

Hmm well let's sum it all up. What I wanted to say is that I'm really happy, Alhamdulillah that His Majesty nowadays realises the importance of Islam in governing the country. When a leader changes for the better, usually his subjects will follow suit, Insya Allah.

Over these past couple of months, I started to care what was happening to the world. Disasters, fighting for justice/freedom, famine, diseases. Why do these things happen we ask? For Muslims, we believe that these are some of the signs of qiamat. Rasulullah sallahu alaihi wassalam had mentioned about them and yes they are happening. The more reason why we need to deepen our knowledge about our purpose in life.

First there was the issue about Egypt. Their leader Hosni Mubarak had ruled for a long time and well most of the people just don't like him anymore because some of his system were just unacceptable and wrong. The people wanted freedom, they rose up and made large-scale protests to demand him to step down. This happened few days/weeks. At first Eqypt was deprived of network. Internet was shut down so that things ate hushed up but you know how these things can't be hushed, eventually news are leaked and spread massively around the world. Allahu akbar! Anyway he just refused to step down. People were shot, rolled over gangsters were let lose, so many things happened but Alhamdulillah eventually and finally he stepped down. The Eqypt people showed bravery and Alhamdulillah it was such a wonderful sight to see men praying together, filling gaps in saf despite the heavy and powerful water shooting and aiming at them. At times like these, the citizens were really helping each other regardless of religion. The Non-muslims guarded and protected the Muslims whilst they were praying, teenage guys stood up like men volunteering to join curfew and protecting their village, the people cleaning up their roads themselves because they want to keep their country clean, there were just so many good things that came out of it.

At first the overthrow of the ruler by the people happened in Tunisia before it triggered the Egyptians to make the same move in their country. Then not long after that same thing happened in Libya. Their ruler Gaddafi was a cruel man. There were articles saying innocent people were shot by his army. And since these events happened in places where internet or communication was limited, stories about this cruelty were realised and spread throughout the world almost a week later when more innocent lives were taken. I honestly am clueless about the situation now. But I pray the Libyans people for their safety and strength in Iman. May they be patient ones.

And then there was earthquake that happend in Christchurch in OZ. And the most recent one in massive earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. Thousands of lives were lost and houses/buildings destroyed. Some of the nuclear plants were also affected and radiation leaks were reported. People lost homes and to top that up, recently the weather temperature dropped and so people were freezing with the lack of roofs on top of their heads. HOWEVER, it was amazing to witness how the Japanese people handled the situation. I read twitter updates posted on fb and subhanallah their attitudes towards the situation deserved some salutation. In worst case scenarios like these is usually followed by Chaos but not in Japan. The people presented their true culture and followed 'We do things in a calm and orderly manner and unity'. People were seen helping each other in any way they can. Traffic lights not working, so there were massive traffic jams BUT surprisingly hardly any honks. Instead people were kind enough to let the other car past through. Office workers offering shouting and offering people to rest, and use bathrooms at their place. Shopping outlets opened hrs longer than usual, stuff that fell down the racks were picked up and put back by customers instead of stealing them, Gangster looking guy emptying his pockets to donate to the relief fund, strangers offering their cars or bicycles for lifts, people not hassling in the train station and SO MUCH more. Masya Allah. There are always hikmah behind these events. It's just up to us to learn from them. I want to list them down but I think this post has just become too long..

May we better ourselves and get closer to Allah after all these events which serve as reminders to us .

Bristol Weekend

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

hehe just read some blogs just now. It's so fun to discover blogs to read and keep updated. It's not really stalking if the blog's are opened for public view :) Anyway I had my weekend at Bristol. Alhamdulillah, it was fun. Joined in their National Day dinner at a halal restaurant (orchid tah jua namanya. hehe) and ada chan masuk newspaper lagi. wawawa it was fun it was fun. Bristol kira my second home juala. Went there several times for the last 2 years but for this 3rd year, last weekend was the first time. Maybe will go again masa fiizah's graduation Insya Allah. Didn't do much this time. It was more of a chillax weekend. We didn't go to the city or anywhere further. But I did cook and bake! :D hahaha.. I just realised that was my FIRST time cooking/baking in Bristol ever since I came there. hahaha..

I arrived on Friday night. There was a delay. Apparently ada urang start a fire or attempted to somewhere in the train? hmm.. oh well. No probs. I wasn't listening properly since I was half asleep. But yup finally arrived about 10plus at their flat and fiizah was still busy preparing her famous Roast Chicken (2nd time ah.. nyeh nyeh :p). Parut atu andang plang lapaa..but we being good people decided to wait for Qh and Muni to arrive before digging into the chicken. We ended up eating kan dakat kul 11 kali. kali la.. hahah.. but good food2.

The next day, malamnya kan we were going out for dinner so we decided not to cook anything for lunch since breakfast shud suffice right? hahah but skali at 3pm, kelaparan tia! hahaha so I offered to cook some mee goreng plus clamps.. yumm22.. hehe no pics. Lapar udah :p Makan 2 bowls of mee, mana inda kanyang tu. haha.

The next morning, after spening half my morning watching the telly on extreme challenges. Few programmes actually, all to do with hiking and climbing extreme areas, I finally started baking muffins. The night before I suggested we should visit some of the Bristol houses nearby aka the Hotwells people since inda pernah bah. hehe.. so yup, indakan visit2 saja kan? Turned out fiizah had enough ingredients to make them muffins and walah! Had to bake in several batches though. Different batches with different add-ons every time. hehe All in all took me about 2hrs.

So yup, my train was at 3pm. We went out right after praying zuhur together, visited Naj's place first, 5 minutes away. That's when I discovered the Harbour along the way.wawaw and all these small boats. iski ku tarus. Thanks to the housemate for giving us some chicken soup. nyaman.. haha kanyang tarus. Inda sampat buat lunch so we planned to just buy before ke train station but udah urng offer, Alhamdulillah. hehe..We then visited Nurul's place further up, Here we got to drink teaa.. hehe.. so makan udah, minum pun udah. Alhamdulillah.. hehe.. and finally to Ka Salwa's place. Just a short drop by before taking the taxi to the train station. :)

So yup! that's my weekend Bristol! :)

Brunei Darussalam's 27th National Day

Assalamualaikum warahmatullhi wabaraktuh,

Alhamdulillah Brunei has reached its 27th National Day yesterday on 23rd February 2011 corresponding to Rabiulawal 1432H. Our theme this year was the same like last year's "Negaraku Brunei Darussalam" or "My country, Brunei Darussalam" The theme might have not changed and might be simple but the meaning's deep and it covers a whole lot of aspects. To say that means you are abide to the vision of Brunei Darussalam, to our country's philosophy, Malay Islamic Monarchy.

I wanted to write longer few hrs ago but now nada mood tia. I read this year's National Day seemed different. It seemed to capture more patriotism in the people's spirit. Alhamdulillah, maybe it's because our leader has opt to Islam for solutions. Berkatnya spread ke seluruh negara. It started really with the titah about wanting Brunei to be a Dhikir Nation, a nation of remembrance to Allah. And then recently during his Maulidur Rasul titah, His Majesty mentioned about how we should follow the footsteps of our beloved prophet Muhammad Sallahu Alaihi Wassalam to ensure what we do are on the right path. And then, there was the article about His Majesty being concerned about man who led the National Day Oath (http://www.bt.com.bn/news-national/2011/02/24/his-majesty-asked-me-if-i-was-dehydrated). Alhamdulillah. It was raining some more, a true blessing, and especially for those who were there under some light shower during the Proclamation of Independence on 1st January 1984 with roar of kalimah "Allahu Akbar!" for three times, yesterday had definitely brought it some nostalgia when the umbrella field performance also formed the word "Allahu Akbar!" (Allah is Great).

People have been trying to find the video of the national day but no recordings shown yet. The live streaming wasn't working it seemed. Anyway, here in Warwick the Bruneians too had a fair share of National Day pride celebration. We too had stand to sing the national anthem, read the oath and read the doa selamat for the blessings Allah has bestowed upon us Bruneians.

Few days ago, our Brunei society here held a talk to commemorate the birth of the prophet s.a.w. Alhamdulillah it was a well-organised event. The programme was smooth the whole way. Some of the content in the talk given by Ustaz was refreshing as it was something I've only known then.

Nabi Adam 'alaihi salam mahar to Hawa was 100 times selawat to our prophet Muhammad S.A.W?

Subhanallah. We being the prophet Muhammad S.A.W ummah are very well privileged. Al-Quran that contains Allah's words was given the responsibility to Jibrail A.S, the leader and the best angel who then taught our Prophet Muhammad S.AW., the best men and creature Allah created who then spread and taught his ummah. We get the only best! Our prophet S.AW 's name was already known before the first man on earth (Adam A.S)! That signifies the importance of our prophet S.A.W.

Firaun's wife Asiah?

Asiah at that time was known to be the most beautiful woman in Egypt and so Firaun who claimed he was god wanted to have the best of everthing including the most beautiful woman as his wife, Asiah. However who would want to marry a very cruel king? Asiah didn't want to but Firaun persisted and in the end she was forced marry Fir'aun without her and her parents' blessings BUT only with certain conditions, one of them being that Fir-aun was to never touch her. Fir'aun agreed to the condition thinking that Asiah will eventually give in to him but Allah is the best Protector and has protected Asiah's purity. So now when you think about it, that's why prophet Musa A.S was taken in as their adapted child. Subhanallah, Allah is the best planner.

Prophet Muhammas S.A.W was delivered by Saidatina Maryam (Prophet Isa A.S's mother) and Asiah?

Both of these women were pure and great figures in Islam. Maryam, who was pure but with the will of Allah, gave birth to Isa A.S.

Sisters' Weekend Break :)

Alhamdulillah, we four sisters decided to spend time at my place for the Januari-ans birthday weekend get-together. hehe.. siok juala. We finallyy (to me especially after two yrs!) went to visit Warwick castle in Warwick (I'm in Coventry btw), had an Italian lunch there and then after few hours of resting (parut especially) we went to eat at Blue Orchid, a thai Indian restaurant for a late dinner. Hmm and this morning, we went to the city, came back and enjoyed the company of the housemates :)

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :))

hehe I do realise that I've increasingly become a non-regular blogger. Apologies. It's just that every time I want to start writing something, I felt I was procrastinating. I know I had other higher priorities to fulfill like studying, instead of facing the laptop and typing out past events, which if you're a blogger, you would know that it takes time. Especially when pictures are involved. Nevertheless, today I feel like writing before I forget what I have done in these past few weeks.

Anyway a few weeks ago, I had taken some of my time to go through my old posts and delete pictures that I felt obliged to remove. These pictures are mostly pictures of my friends who have changed to becoming better muslimahs, Alhamdulillah :) I understand the importance of protecting one's aurah, for if it was me in those pictures, I too would like them removed. Same thing with facebook, I have privatised albums accordingly. If I felt a person shares his/her fb with the opposite gender, certain albums would be more privatised to them than others. So if you can view an album on my page, that means I have allowed you to view them because others may not have any access to them. And by others, majority of them are guys including my family of the opposite gender.

I do realise that even though you are properly attired but if in that picture, you show funny acts, that too is not appropriate to be shown to the opp gender, that album too would be privatised. I do this because I love all of you and want to protect our iman. I have done my part and I hope you guys would too :) I have thought of deleting the albums but I realised there were some that really brought in good memories and I wanted to share them with you. This blog itself is full of pictures from the past but to delete each one of them would take me a long time.

If there was an application to privatise some posts, that would have made things much easier, but alas there wasn't any so the closest thing I could do was select the pictures I felt was directly exposing my friend's aurah plus individual pics that could be easily be saved and abusively used by unwanted stalkers. I could privatise my blog but then the whole purpose of me opening up a blog is to share experiences and hopefully good ideas that could possibly help you and me in some way. So yes that is why I have let this blog remain open to public. Not so public that I promote my blog anywhere, yet not so private that I limit this blog to certain viewers.

Great ideas usually come from small ideas combined. If we don't share what we think, there is a possibility that we're preventing a GREAT idea from popping up just because we have decided that our small thought does not contribute to anything.

So yup that's it from me. Just writing this took me about an hour plus. Until the next one. :)

We've entered Safar..just some updates

(Peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah and His blessings.)

hehe it has definitely been a looong time since I've written in this blog. Anyway Alhamdulillah we have entered the month of Safar (2nd month in the Islamic Hijrah calendar). Sure thing, a lot has happened since the last post. I went to London back and forth a few more times after KMH, twice to Birm and finally to Leicester to meet the Brustolian ladies about a week ago.

So right. First update. Winter Games. Alhamdulillah, it snowed that day we had our badminton game. Heavily. I had my matches both morning and afternoon since I participated in both singles and doubles. It was a pleasant change in weather from when I came into the building and when I was caming out to perform my prayers in Brunei Hall. The venue was literally about 3 minutes walk from B-hall. What a convenience! :D Anyway, Alhamdulillah I got second for singles and first for doubles. :) Oh my partner's from Loughborough.

hehe i love this pic. It was during our warm up session. U might wonder what warms-up we did sampai blur brabis jua kami atu. hehehe...

And then the next day, I went to watch the netball match. The venue's outdoors. Snow was still thick so it was expected that the weather would affect the games. And yup it did. It was a huge relief when Bru*wick finally arrived at the court. Delayed transport. But yes, definitely exciting to be at the sidelines cheering for your team! And your sister's team. heheh.. fun fun fun. I think we were the loudest and most cheerful supporters there. berbanner2 lagi.. heheh..

Ah~ and finally, I got to meet up with my ex-ms friends. What a lovely catch up session we had. Oh and not forgetting we four sisters finally met up in B-hall. Bhall, bhall..sigh. Anyway, so yes I was supposed to go back to Cov after the netball matches but one thing led to another and I stayed for another day. It was a blessing, really. Like I said just now, I got to meet up with my MS friends. We had a lovely catching up session, me, yazmyn, tiqah and sufina. Siok. hehe.. All the discussions we had, ooo you really felt matured and responsible! hehe.. myn mentioned about TED event and ooo only yesterday I was sent a link about Quran presented by one of the speakers. TED event is basically an event where people talk about their ideas freely. I'll show the video at the end of post.

I came back to Cov on Monday and then the next day, Nass came to visit me. Sorry Nass ah, if ada any kekurangan. We both had transport delays and so I wasn't able to bring her to the city since the prayer times were so close to each other. Brought her to the uni, hoping that xananas was opened but unfortunately wasn't. Luckily costa was still opened but closing so we had about half an hr of light refreshments because it was certainly not heavy meal. So on our way home, singgah tescos bought the stuff we need and malamnya masak! :D I cooked ayam masak tomato and Nass, our veggie chef for the night! hehe.. tq Nass

So next day after sending Nass back, I went to Birm where I met familiar faces from KMH and new faces :) Stayed over at a friend's and then next day off to London again to have an outing with Karen from Aberdeen! except that I got the date wrong! lol. but I didn't mind. My two sisters were still in Bhall and my MS friends were there and that also meant more opportunities to hear the azan and following Jemaah prayers in the Bhall surau. I met new people and Alhamdulillah I also was also given the blessings to participate in the weekly yaasin and tahlil they do in Bhall since it was Thursday night (Malam Jumaat). Heheh blessings from Allah Alhamdulillah.

So during those time in London, I've eaten at Noodle Oodle, Nandos and this Halal Thai restaurant I can't remember where. I went for bowling (after for quite some time) and I finally went to the famous Camden Market. Had we not eaten earlier for lunch on top of me having a heavy breakfast in Bhall, I would have definitely not hesitate to try the halal free foodbies. hehe..

Oh and finally Leicester! Great fun times with the Brustolian ladies and seriously a cari-makan trip for them :) Stayed at Travel lodge for a night and had food from Tinseltown, Nandos, a light breakfast at coffee shop in High Cross (their shopping mall), Milkshakes, and Sushis. Fun2.. They even had a 'surprise' bday for me and fiizah. haha they were pretty 'secretive' about it, all right.

"Nanti kami kan buatkan kamu surprise rah Tinseltown tu ah, kamu masuk akhir ckit tu ah.." lol!

Oh we also had some free chips in TT and a full meal in Nandos. Rezeki2.... hehe

We played cramium, chinese whisper and got to visit our friends in Leicester. Siok2.. Even terserempak dengan Dee! of all places, not london, not bristol, not loughborough, but leicester! heheh :D

Hmm so yup, so far that's it. I'm currently in the process of revising Molecular Bio with few distractions here and there but so far I think I'm progressing. Alhamdulillah. Euchromatin, Heterochromatin.. all good. hehe..

Puasa Hari Tasu'a dah Hari Asyura (9&10 Muharram)

Berpuasa sunat pada hari ‘Ashura iaitu pada 10 Muharram mempunyai kelebihan yang besar di sisi Islam. Rasulullah (saw) sentiasa menunggu hari ini untuk berpuasa kerana ganjarannya sangat besar. Berkata Ibnu Abbas (ra) yang maksudnya;

“Aku tidak pernah melihat Rasulullah (saw) begitu bersungguh untuk memastikan Baginda berpuasa pada mana-mana hari atau memilih hari-hari tertentu kecuali hari ini, yakni hari ‘Ashura dan bulan ini yakni bulan Ramadan.” (HR Bukhari)

Dalil Mengenai Puasa Hari ‘Ashura

Daripada Ibnu Abbas (ra) berkata;

“Apabila Nabi (saw) tiba di Madinah, maka Baginda (saw) melihat orang Yahudi berpuasa ‘Ashura, maka Baginda (saw) bertanya, “Apakah (amalan) ini? Mereka menjawab; “Dia adalah suatu hari yang baik di mana Allah telah menyelamatkan Nabi Musa (as) dan kaum Bani Israel daripada musuh-musuh mereka, maka Nabi Musa (as) pun berpuasa kerananya. Maka Nabi (saw) pun bersabda; “Aku lebih berhak berbanding kamu terhadap Musa (as).” Maka Rasulullah (saw) pun berpuasa pada hari itu dan menyuruh umatnya berpuasa sama.” (HR Bukhari dan Muslim)

Daripada Abu Musa al-Asya’ari (ra) berkata;

“Adalah pada hari ‘Ashura, orang-orang Yahudi menyambutnya dengan menjadikannya suatu hari raya. Nabi (saw) bersabda, “Maka hendaklah kamu berpuasa ‘Ashura.” (HR Bukhari dan Muslim)

Pada awal Islam, berpuasa hari ‘Ashura adalah wajib. Selepas tahun kedua hijrah, apabila turun ayat al-Quran yang memfardhukan puasa di bulan Ramadhan, maka Rasulullah (saw) mengisytiharkan berpuasa hari ‘Ashura menjadi sunah.

Daripada Ibnu Umar (ra) berkata;

“Sesungguhnya ‘Ashura adalah satu hari daripada hari-hari Allah, maka sesiapa yang mahu, berpuasalah dan sesiapa yang mahu, bolehlah dia tidak berpuasa.” (HR Ahmad dan Muslim)

Puasa Hari ‘Ashura Sebagai Penebus Dosa

Daripada Abu Qatadah (ra) berkata bahawa Rasulullah (saw) bersabda;

“Berpuasa pada hari ‘Arafah menghapuskan dosa-dosa dua tahun, setahun yang lalu dan setahun akan datang, manakala puasa ‘Ashura menghapuskan dosa-dosa setahun yang lalu.” (HR Jama’ah, Bukhari dan at-Tirmizi)

Para ulama menyatakan bahawa dosa-dosa yang dihapuskan adalah dosa-dosa kecil kerana dosa-dosa besar memerlukan taubat.

Imam Nawawi (rh) berkata, “Sekiranya seseorang itu melakukan sesuatu (amalan) yang boleh menghapuskan dosa kecil, maka ia akan terampun. Jika tidak terdapat dosa kecil atau besar, maka ia dicatat sebagai amalan yang baik dan ditingkatkan martabatnya. Jika terdapat dosa besar dan tiada dosa kecil, kami berharap puasa itu mengurangkan dosa besarnya.” (Al-Majmu’ Syarh al-Muhazzab)

Kebanyakan manusia suka meremehkan dosa-dosa kecil sama ada dilakukan secara sedar ataupun tidak. Maksud tidak sedar dalam melakukan dosa kecil ialah kerana kelalaian atau tidak mempunyai ilmu dan pengetahuan bahawa perbuatan itu adalah suatu dosa. Cuba bayangkan berapa banyak dosa kecil yang kita lakukan setiap hari dari pagi hinggalah ke malam. Semoga dengan adanya amalan berpuasa seperti puasa hari ‘Ashura ini, dosa-dosa kita akan diampunkan oleh Allah (swt).

Sabda Rasulullah SAW yang diriwayatkan dari Sahl bin Sa’d yang bermaksud:“Berhati-hatilah kamu terhadap dosa kecil (dosa yang diremehkan), dosa yang sering dilakukan oleh seseorang pasti akan memusnahkannya (akan menjadi dosa besar).” (HR Musnad Ahmad)

Perbezaan Puasa Di antara Muslim dan Ahli Kitab

Dalam sahih Muslim terdapat satu riwayat bahawa para Sahabat (ra) berkata kepada Rasulullah (saw) mengenai hari ‘Ashura yang disambut oleh kaum Yahudi dan Kristian. Lalu Rasulullah (saw) bersabda, “InsyaAllah, apabila tiba tahun hadapan, kami akan berpuasa pada hari kesembilan (bagi membezakan dengan cara puasa ahli kitab).”

Ibnu Abbas (ra) berkata, “Maka sebelum tiba tahun itu, Rasulullah (saw) telah wafat lebih awal.” (HR Muslim)

Menurut Hafiz Ibnu Qayyim (rh) terdapat tiga cara untuk berpuasa hari ‘Ashura iaitu:-

1. Berpuasa tiga hari iaitu pada 9, 10 dan 11 Muharram, atau

2. Berpuasa 9 dan 10 Muharram, atau

3. Berpuasa pada 10 Muharram sahaja.

Pada hari ‘Ashura juga, orang-orang Makkah biasanya akan menukar kain yang menutupi ka’bah (kiswah). Orang-orang Quraish kebiasannya akan berpuasa pada hari ini. (HR Bukhari)

Berpuasa pada hari ‘Ashura bukannya bertujuan memperingati kesyahidan cucunda Rasulullah (saw) iaitu Sayyidina Hussin (ra) seperti yang dilakukan oleh golongan Syiah.

Hari ‘Ashura bagi orang Syiah dengan berkumpul beramai-ramai dan mengadakan majlis keramaian memperingati pembunuhan Sayyidina Husin (ra) yang syahid di Karbala. Mereka akan mencederakan diri dengan memukul badan, dada dan kepala sehinga berdarah sambil mengucapkan puji-pujian dan berdoa di atas kematian Sayyidina Hussin (ra). Perbuatan orang-orang Syiah ini amat bertentangan dengan iktikad Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah kerana mereka telah melakukan perbuatan bid’ah dan melampaui petunjuk agama.

Warwick has already started its Dec holidays on Saturday 11th Dec. Alhamdulillah, so yup Holidayy~~ Not going anywhere far though. Need to do some study catch up. Alhamdulillah we have entered a new Hijrah 1432 last week. Hopefully everyone got to read/listen to the Doa akhir/awal tahun Hijrah. Let's reflect what we've done last year and make or improve our resolutions for this new year :). Unfortunately I have not actually written down any specific goals for this year. It actually really helps if you jot down your goals so that you can see your goals clearly, you know kata pepatah that sounded something like this, "Dari mata, jatuh ke hati" hehe.. oh yes, it does not only apply to lovey dovey but it also applies to your goals. When you can actually see something, you'll understand it even better. Same principle goes to study. A reminder especially to myself. But the overall aim is to become a better Muslimah.

To be a better Muslimah is a very big aim and covers a very large scope. I'm not only talking about prayers and fasting. But I'm talking about everything! Your food, sleep, health, education, time management, etc. This is because Islam is a way of life. Improve what needs to be improved and maintain what has become our amalan. For me, my main area that needs to be improved is my study methods. In the past, I haven't fulfill the rights of of my 'study brain' to indulge in new knowledge. Wahseh.. putar belit cakapku. But yes I aim to become a better student this year. I know I can do it, so I must do it. Eiseman! :D

Anyway I attended BSU KMHijrah few days ago in London. Alhamdulillah, I must say it is the best motivational programme organised by Bruneians that I've attended so far. Know why? Because it was effective. It touched the heart and souls of the participants there. I can't remember how many times tears run down the faces of the attendees throughout the programme. The only other time that I've experienced this scene was during the Heart Serene course I attended earlier this easter. The camp was about Hijrah. Hijrah means to move from one point to another. And in history it also signifies the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad Sallahu Alaihi Wassalam from Mekkah to Madinah. What we need to take from these two meanings is really your willingness to move from being bad to good or from good to much a better position.

So during the 3-days camp (Fri night-Sun noon), we were taught or guided towards ways that we can help us better ourselves. Activities were done separately among the girls and guys. I arrived quite since my coach was an hour delayed. But as soon as I came into the girls prayer room, I was welcomed with happy faces of ladies sitting down together in a large circle facing each other and introducing themselves. The introductory game was really interesting. The game is basically trying to remember the names of all the girls there. You yourself have to come up with an adjective that rhymes with your name whilst introducing yourself to others. But before that, you need to mention the names of the previous people before you. So you can imagine, the last person in the circle of about 30 girls has to mention the names of all thosee girls before her. And you know what? She said all of them without fail. hehe.. the power of linking something interesting to your name. And instead of saying Hi, you give salam. :) So here's an example.

It's my turn and I have three girls before me. So firstly I give salam to all, "Assalamualaikum semua," and then I start saying the three girls names. Let's say the 1st is Khadijah, 2nd Aisyah, 3rd Fatimah. Each one of them has to come up with a rhyming or similar first letter adjective that goes with their names. Khadijah is Honest Khadijah (with a specific tone to honest, like "KHonest), and then Aing Aisyah and then Fun Fatimah. And after that I introduce myself. Mine was Happy Hafiyyah :D

The days followed through with Qiyamullail, waking up early before Subuh about 4am to do night prayers (Tahajjud), Sembahyang Hajat, Sembahyang Witir or dzikir or Quranic recitation to glorify Allah. We had little sleep since the previous night, everyone slept maybe the earliest at 1am. Anyway Alhamdulillah most of us were wide awake because everyone was going through the same thing in terms of lack of sleep and so it wasn't a hard burden to carry. And then we had Subuh Jemaah led by Ustaz. We could hear him through the speakers loud and clear. On the first morning (Sat) of the camp we also had Kuliah Subuh given by the Ustaz.

So what else did we do? Sat morning, had Treasure Hunt Muslimah style in Hyde Park! hhee Alhamdulillah it was reallyyy good. To relate treasure hunt to your life, and to realise we have check points in our life as well to reflect and remind ourselves our true purpose in life which is to 1. serve to the one and only Allah 2. To become a leader. hehe and the whole way the girls in each team needs to hold hands. hehe so cute and sweet right? hehe nobody gets left behind and you go through obstacles together. Hyde Park was bigg and we did ran through detours (in other words, sasat jaalan :p. It was a tricky clue k. hehe) And in each c.p we were given treasures. To relate it to life, these treasures signifies rezeki from Allah to guide you further :). Basically very deep la the meaning. I really salute the organisers.

Apart from Jemaah prayers we also had mini QC sessions. Basically sit together and share with each other knowledge you can get from Quran and hadith. There were many sisters that were knowledgable and everytime we refer or read them from the Quran or Hadith book to ensure us that they were not making these things up, Insya Allah. Stories of how they changed were told. And the ayats that influenced them. Everything were shared. And sometimes you can relate them to your own experience. This was what makes a bond stronger. Doing something good together for the sake of Allah.

It wasn't at all hard core learning where you get scolded if done wrong. In fact, everybody was constantly asking for forgiveness from one another if there were weaknesses in what they share and to ask others to correct them if they knew something was wrong. We constantly laugh, smile, hug, talk2. Oh yes we do. After all these are girls' nature. We love to talk and share when we are together. But we channel our talks to positive talks instead of gossips. Stories that can change make us think to become a better person, Insya Allah.

Oh, makanan atu apa lagi. Nyammaan.. Makanan Bruhall kali ah... hehehee.. Nasi katok, nasi lemak, beef masak black pepper, lemon chicken.. fruits, biscuits. It was all delicious Alhamdulillah. What else lagi? Oh ya. Tausyeh and Aerobics! hehehee.. very interesting. and videos. All fun22 but useful Insya Allah :)))

Oh plus, got to see my sister :)

Maal Hijrah 1432 approaching tomorrow...Doa Akhir & Awal Tahun

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :)

Insya Allah we will reach the end of Hijrah 1431 and start the new year of 1432 H tomorrow, on Monday 06/12/2010. A reminder to myself before anyone else is to ponder our achievements and failures this year and set to improve and become a better person for the new year. Appreciate the ups and downs of this year. All are blessings from Allah. Happy moments are blessings and not so happy moments are also blessings from Allah since they are the ones that give you experience.

So how do you welcome the new Hijrah year? Pray to Allah and say thanks for the blessings he has bestowed on us for this year and pray that he will continue to do so in the new year.

Firman Allah S.W.T dari Al-Quran tentang Sabar

Pertamanya kita mesti faham bahawa hidup kita ini akan sentiasa diuji. Sama ada kita suka atau tidak kita akan diuji juga, sesuai dengan Firman Allah S.w.t yang bermaksud:“Apakah kamu mengira bahawa kamu akan masuk syurga, padahal belum datang kepadamu (ujian) sebagaimana halnya orang-orang terdahulu sebelum kamu? Mereka ditimpa oleh malapetaka dan kesengsaraan, serta digoncangkan (dengan bermacam-macam ujian) sehingga berkatalah Rasul dan orang-orang yang beriman bersamanya: “Bilakah datangnya pertolongan Allah?” Ingatlah, sesungguhnya pertolongan Allah itu amat dekat.” – Surah AlBaqarah : Ayat 214
Mengapa kita diuji? Firman Allah S.w.t, “Yang menjadikan mati dan hidup, supaya Dia menguji kamu, siapa di antara kamu yang lebih baik amalnya. Dan Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Pengampun,” – Surah AlMulk : Ayat 2

Ibnu Qoyyim Aljauzi dalam kitab Madarijus Salikin mengatakan, “Sabar adalah menahan jiwa dari berkeluh kesah dan marah, menahan lisan dari mengeluh, serta menahan anggota badan dari berbuat tashwisy (yang tidak lurus). Sabar ada 3 jenis, sabar dalam berbuat ketaatan kepada Allah S.w.t, sabar dari melakukan maksiat, dan sabar dari ujian Allah.”

Kelebihan Sembahyang Subuh

Ganjaran pahala solat Subuh mengatasi keindahan dunia sebagaimana sabda Rasulullah SAW: “Sesiapa yang menunaikan solat Subuh, maka ia berada dalam jaminan Allah SWT. Kerana itu, janganlah kamu mencari jaminan Allah SWT dengan sesuatu (selain daripada solat), yang pada waktu kamu mendapatkannya, lebih-lebih lagi ditakuti kamu tergelincir ke dalam api neraka.” (Hadis riwayat Muslim)

Muhammad Abdur Rauf al-Munawi dalam kitabnya at-Ta'arif menegaskan, as-Subhu atau as-Sabah adalah permulaan siang hari, iaitu ketika ufuk berwarna merah jingga di langit tertutup oleh tabir matahari. Adapun solat Subuh ibadat yang dilaksanakan ketika fajar siddiq dan berakhir pada waktu matahari terbit. Solat Subuh memiliki banyak daya tarikan kerana kedudukannya dalam Islam dan nilainya yang tinggi dalam syariat. Banyak hadis mendorong untuk melaksanakan solat Subuh serta menyanjung mereka yang menjaga dan mengerjakannya.

Rasulullah SAW mengetahui waktu Subuh adalah waktu yang sangat sulit dan payah untuk bangun dari tidur. Seorang Muslim bila dibiarkan begitu saja (tertidur), akan memilih untuk merehatkan dirinya sampai terjaga hingga terbit matahari dan meninggalkan solat Subuh, atau ‘Subuh gajah’, iaitu dikerjakan solat Subuh tidak pada waktunya yang betul.

Rasulullah SAW mengkhususkan solat subuh dengan beberapa keistimewaan tunggal dan sifat tertentu yang tidak ada pada solat lain. Banyak keutamaan dan kelebihan yang didapati di waktu subuh. Salah satu keutamaannya adalah Rasulullah SAW mendoakan umatnya yang bergegas dalam melaksanakan solat Subuh, sebagaimana disebutkan dalam hadis: “Ya Allah, berkatilah umatku selama mereka suka bangun subuh (iaitu mengerjakannya).” (Hadis riwayat Termizi, Abu Daud, Ahmad dan Ibnu Majah)

Jika Rasulullah SAW yang berdoa, maka tidak ada hijab di antara Baginda dengan Allah SWT kerana Baginda sendiri adalah orang yang secara jasadiyah paling dekat dengan Allah SWT. Waktu Subuh adalah waktu yang paling baik untuk mendapatkan rahmat dan keredaan Allah SWT. Allah SWT berfirman maksudnya: “Dan bersabarlah kamu bersama-sama dengan orang-orang yang menyeru Tuhannya di pagi dan senja hari dengan mengharap keredaan-Nya, dan janganlah kedua matamu berpaling daripada mereka kerana mengharapkan perhiasan duniawi, dan janganlah kamu mengikuti orang yang hatinya sudah Kami lalaikan daripada mengingati Kami, serta menuruti hawa nafsunya dan adalah keadaannya itu melampaui batas.” (Surah al-Kahfi, ayat 28)

Keutamaan solat Subuh diberikan ganjaran pahala melebihi keindahan dunia dan seisinya, sebagaimana disebutkan dalam hadis riwayat Imam at-Termizi: “Dari Aisyah telah bersabda Rasulullah SAW, dua rakaat solat Fajar pahalanya lebih indah daripada dunia dan seisinya.” Begitulah keistimewaan solat Subuh. Apakah yang menghalang kita untuk menyingkap selimut dan mengakhiri tidur untuk melakukan solat Subuh? Bukankah solat Subuh menjadi bahagian yang begitu besar kemuliaannya dibandingkan dunia dan seisinya?

Diriwayatkan Muslim daripada Usman bin Affan berkata, Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang maksudnya: “Barang siapa yang solat Isyak berjemaah maka seolah-olah dia telah solat setengah malam, barang siapa solat Subuh berjemaah, maka seolah-olah dia telah melaksanakan solat malam satu malam penuh." (Hadis riwayat Muslim).

Solat Subuh adalah sumber daripada segala cahaya di hari kiamat. Di hari itu, semua sumber cahaya di dunia akan padam. Matahari akan digulung, ibadat yang akan menerangi pelakunya. Diriwayatkan daripada Abu Musa al-Asyaari, dia berkata Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang maksudnya: “Barang siapa yang solat dua waktu yang dingin, maka akan masuk syurga.” (Hadis riwayat Bukhari).

Dua waktu yang dingin itu adalah solat Subuh dan Asar. Mereka yang menjaga solat Subuh dan Asar dijanjikan kelak di syurga akan melihat Allah SWT. Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang bermaksud: “Kami sedang duduk bersama Rasulullah SAW, ketika melihat bulan purnama. Baginda berkata, “Sungguh kamu akan melihat Rabb (Allah), sebagaimana kamu melihat bulan yang tidak terhalang dalam memandangnya. Apabila kamu mampu, janganlah kamu menyerah dalam melakukan solat sebelum terbit matahari dan solat sebelum terbenam matahari. Maka lakukanlah.” (Hadis riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim)

Rasulullah SAW memberi janji, apabila solat Subuh dikerjakan, maka Allah akan melindungi siapa saja yang mengerjakannya seharian penuh. Rasulullah SAW bersabda yang maksudnya: “Barang siapa yang menunaikan solat Subuh, maka ia berada dalam jaminan Allah. Maka janganlah cuba-cuba membuat Allah membuktikan janji-Nya. Barang siapa yang membunuh orang yang menunaikan solat Subuh, Allah SWT akan menuntutnya, sehingga Allah SWT akan membenamkan mukanya ke dalam neraka.” (Hadis riwayat Muslim, at-Termizi dan Ibn Majah)

Semoga kita tetap menjaga dan memelihara solat Subuh seperti dijanjikan Allah. Bergegaslah bangun tidur apabila terdengar laungan azan berkumandang untuk segera mengerjakan solat Subuh.

How I spent my raya :)

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh :)

Alhamdulillah, last year's eid adha in uk was great! this year pun great! :)

Monday night, we had makan2 (satay~~, chikong, ayam panggang..nyum2) at our neighbour's and landlords' house. Then the next morning, morning of Eid, I rushed to the prayer hall. I remembered that morning was soo foggy. I would have taken some pictures to show the fogginess but I was in a rush. The prayer starts at 8am and from my experience last year, if they say 8am, they mean 8am. I knew estimate time to got to the surau from my house would be 20min. I started walking from home 15 minutes before 8am. So when I checked the time as I got nearer to the surau a few minutes after eight I was like, "Mudah2an sempat, mudahan sempat"
Alhamdulillah, with my wudhu still valid, as soon as I entered the prayer hall, I managed to masbuk the jemaah prayer on the first rakaat.

In the khutbah we were reminded on the significance of eid. The famous story is about the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahim Alaihi Salam made when Allah ordered him to slaughter his beloved son Ismail Alaihi Salam. Prophet Ibrahim A.S was only blessed with a son when he was already 80 plus years old. He was yearning for a son and when he was blessed with one, few years later he was asked to slaughter his own son, now that is certainly a huge sacrifice. His patience and love for Allah was so great that he was willing to do so. His son Ismail A.S also showed great patience and at a young age has showed his love for Allah when he calmly told his beloved father to do his duty. Just when Prophet Ibrahim A.S. was about to slaughter Prophet Ismail A.S, Allah asked him to stop because he had fulfill his duty and showed great loyalty to Allah and in exchange, a sheep was to be slaughtered instead.

Another famous story which also concerned the patience of Prophet Ibrahim A.S and his family was when Allah ordered Prophet Ibrahim A.S to leave his beloved wife Siti Hajar and son, Ismail A.S in a bear desert. This happened when Prophet Ismail A.S was still a baby, years before the first story above. Siti Hajar was a very patient woman. She believes Allah will protect them and give them rezeki. Even so, she made the effort to find water for Ismail A.S and herself. So she went to Hills Safa and Marwa, back and forward when she thought she saw a water source on the other hill from the hill she's on, for seven times. As we probably know, this became a rukun in performing the haj. When she came back to her son, she saw water coming out from the ground where Ismail A.S prodded with his feet. But as the water kept flowing, Hajar shouted, "Zam, zam!", meaning: "Stop, stop flowing!". (Ok the different font sentence I got it from Brunei Times. Please read more from BT)

So yes, that was some of the things said in the khutbah. After the khutbah, everybody salam, hugged and greeted each other in pure happiness to celebrate the blessed day. It was a great scenery as it was one year ago and the year before. Oh not forgetting the clickings of cameras and the beautiful clothings worn.

It started small, then one by one masuk so here's the final picta! hehe

Then it was lecture time, so off to lecture! I finished at 11am and had another lecture at 1pm. Instead of the usual stay on campus between those time, I rushed back home in between to savour the scrumptious food at my landlords'/neighbours' raya open house. Sedaaap :D Oh the sweeet lamb. Nyumm! Worth the long walk I tell you. hehe.. Unfortunately I didnt get to take pics this time too.

So yes that was tuesday, then on Wednesday we had the Bru*wick's Hari Raya at night. Another great event Alhamdulillah. We get to pray Isya' together, sunat hajat, then takbir. Another additional itinerary was a mini QC sharing session about the significance of Eid. Then it was makan2. Ooo niice menuu as well.. buttermilk, ayam masak kicap, some curry stroke something dish and then oo the lovely vegeterian pasta option. There was also tiramisu, some tarts. As for myself, I made apple crumble :)) To continue on, we also had the pantun2 kawin sketsa by the creative members part 2 or 3. hahaha.. it was really funnyy.. haha.!

So sambung on Thursday. Hmm I got a full day. Lectures ended up at 4pm. Stayed abit at the prayer hall and right after isya prayers, we went to the Who is Muhammad Conference. The talks ended by 8.30pm and when I reached home it was about 9 plus. As soon and me and sasha reached home, we were greeted by the nyum22 smell from the kitchen and a whole of chicken to be carik2 haha. We had to stay up quite late to prepare for our open house the next day. Main menu was Soto made by our x-phd housemate, Kak Amylia. :( She left the house yesterday. The majlis was really a nice last day for her as a 32 sheriff ave housemate. Ngalih kali ah., carik2 ayam2. haha we were meant to prepare for 60 people but I think we overprepared. hehe nvm, better more than less. Alhamdulillah it was really nice. Bruneians and Malaysians combine. I asked the Bruneian guys across the street to come early and helped clear out the living room and we performed Isya's prayer jemaah. Then the 2nd year Malaysian girls came and slowly the house was filled with people eating and enjoying the night. To bless the majlis, the doa selamat was read by Bru*wick's RO. Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the food :)

So yup I had more heavy food eating the previous nights before Hari Raya. Rezeki rezeki but let's just skip that part. hehe. Today I was out the house the whole day. After tedarus, we had our netball session. Initially I didn't want to attend or I might attend a bit later and so I wore my casual attire. Skali! I ended up playing the whole time without wearing sport shoes. haha! Felt goood. I can play attack and also defence! weehee! But as usual, in the goal hoop area ja. hehe..

Ok la, I think this is quite a loong post. Next time gi, Wassalam..

Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha 1431H

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Di uk raya udah start masuk maghrib. Mari kitani memperbesarkan hari raya aidiladha dan 3 hari seterusnya (Hari Tasyriq) dengan takbir :) (lupa add, banarnya takbir raya start from subuh hari arafah) sampai habis asar 3rd day hari tasyriq) Mohon maaf segala kesalahan. Minta halalkan apa2 yang inda sengaja makan ka, utang ka, change2 damit atu.. mohon halalkan. May Allah bless and guide us dunia akhirat :))) Amiinn ya rabbal alamiin.

(It says takbir aidil fitri, but it also applies to takbir aidiladha)

Antara Amalan-amalan sunat di Hari Raya Aidiladha (that I can think of):

1. Mandi sunat Hari Raya
2. Pakai pakaian yang terbaik (doesn't have to be new)
3. Pakai wangi-wangian (bagi lelaki)
4. Berjalan kaki menuju tempat sembahyang raya (tempat yang luas)
5. Sembahyang Raya
(Niat: Sahaja aku sembahyang solat sunat hari raya aidiladha, 2 rakaat mengikut imam kerana Allah. 7 kali takbir rakaat pertama dan 5 kali rakaat kedua dengan berdhikir "Subhanallah, Walhamdulillah, Wa La ilaha IllAllah, WallahuAkbar" setiap takbir)
6. Mendengar khutbah
7. Mengucap ucapan selamat kepada orang lain (ucapan tidak khusus, asal sahaja ada niat yang baik)
8. Berjalan balik ke rumah dengan menggunakan jalan yang lain
9. Makan setelah sembahyang raya aidiladha dengan daging qurban.
10. Bertakbir raya banyak2

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

So how's everybody? Udah make the most use of these first few days of Zulhijjah? May Allah bless and accept our deeds, Amin. Anyway Insya Allah in UK, Hari Raya Aidiladha will fall on Tuesday 16 Nov 2010 (Malam Isnin ikut kiraan dalam Islam). which means Hari Arafah falls on Monday. That's tomorrow!

So jom ramai2 puasa besok. Pahala dia WOW! Wallahua'alam.

Kelebihan amal soleh pada hari Arafah

1. Nabi saw pernah ditanya tentang kelebihan puasa pada hari Arafah? Jawab nabi: “Kifarah dua tahun”. Nabi saw ditanya tentang kelebihan puasa pada hari Asyura’?. Jawab nabi:“Kifarat setahun”. (Ahmad: 295, Shakir / Hamzah: 22416 Sahih, Muslim 1162 dan terdapat riwayat lain)

Di dalam satu riwayat:

“Puasa pada hari Arafah pahalanya menyamai puasa selama dua tahun, puasa pada hari Asyura menyamai puasa selama setahun”. (Ahmad: 307/5 Sahih)

2. Sabda nabi saw:

“Seafdal-afdal doa ialah pada hari Arafah dan seafdal-afdal apa yang aku katakan, aku dan nabi-nabi sebelum aku ialah: Tiada Tuhan melainkan Allah semata-mata tiada yang sekutu bagiNya”. (Al-Muwatta’ kitab al-Quran hlm 188, Tirmizi di dalam ad-Dakwat: 3585)

The ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah (the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar) is the day of 'Arafah. It is the day when pilgrims stand on the plain of 'Arafah to pray. On this day, Muslims all over the world who do not witness the annual hajj should spend the day in fasting, in preparation for the three days festivity following 'Eid ul-Adha (the celebration marking the end of the hajj commemorating the Prophet Ibrâhîm's willingness of sacrifice).

Abû Hafsah, may Allâh be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said:

"Fasting on the day of 'Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on 'ashûra, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years."[Reported by all except al-Bukhârî and Tirmidhî]

In another saying the Prophet's wife Hafsah, may Allâh be pleased with her, said:

"Four things the Messenger of Allâh never neglected: Observing fast on the day of 'ashûra, 'Arafat, three days every month, and offering fajr sunnah prayers early in the morning." [Muslim]

These statements are proof that fasting on the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, the day before 'Eid ul-Adha was a lifelong practice of the Prophet, peace be upon him, as his wife reported.
